Kyoto International Manga Museum

Genga'(Dash) is a research collaboration project led by manga artist and Kyoto Seika University president Takemiya Keiko and the Kyoto Seika University International Manga Research Center. The goal of the project is to provide exhibitions focusing on elaborate reproductions of original manga manuscripts that have been subject to fading and damage over time. The makers of these reproductions strive to produce fresh works that mimic their original counterparts as closely as possible. This showing in the Genga’(Dash) series centers on four artists: Nishitani Yoshiko, Ohya Chiky, Hatsu Akiko, and Takemiya Keiko. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to view their time-honored manuscripts in fully enhanced, renovated, vibrant color.
