Ikoma Shrine

Located on the foot of Ikoma Mountain, Ikoma Taisha treats the mountain as the object of worship. This historical shrine has been referenced in literature from the 5th century. The highlight of the festival takes place in the afternoon of the 7th, as men carry flaming torches while racing down the stone steps to pay respect to the gods.
