Art Area B1, Osaka

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Art Area B1 and the opening of the Nakanoshima Line on the Kintetsu Railway, this year’s Railway Art Festival concentrates on the ways railways influence urban planning. Three artists/collectives were invited to create an imaginative urban plan under the theme “Railroad and City Planning”: the authors of The Copy Travellers, a book of experimental collages; Oscar Peters, a Dutch artist who creates large-scale installations; and Kazutoshi Iida, a game designer who’s worked with Nintendo, PlayStation, and VR. Each month of the exhibition includes a series of events, including talks and parties. Check out the website for the current month’s schedule.
