Club Quattro
Best known as the singer and guitarist of the band Sonic Youth, US musician Thurston Moore released the solo Rock n Roll Consciousness in April of this year. His fifth solo album, critics claim it has leanings towards the Sonic Youth sound. Alongside Moore for the recording and tour are My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe, and Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley (the live band also includes guitarist James Sedwards). The album is just five tracks long, but two of those tracks run for longer than 10 minutes. Describing the sound of one of the tracks, Moore says, “The guitars are heavy rock n roll and the lyrics are gentle.” The album is very positive in tone and Moore said in an interview prior to the release, “They are songs I want to have and play forever.”
