The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is an annual international event held in the ancient city of Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The event is dedicated to the publication of literary works for kids, and the celebration of illustrators who bring those stories to life. This year’s book fair included works from 75 illustrators from 26 countries around the world, including 6 artists from Japan. This exhibition features pieces by various international artists who won prizes at this year’s fair in Bologna. Two special exhibitions are also on display. The first focuses on the work of Mexican illustrator Juan Palomino, winner of the 2016 International Award for Illustration at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The second features a selection of literary artworks from several artists from Japan.
