London-based British power-metal band DragonForce was formed in 1999 and is well-known for mixing melodic vocals, incredibly fast lead guitar, and electronic sounds. Originally named DragonHeart and put together by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman (both still with the band today), the band released its debut independent album in 2003, Valley Of The Damned. The band’s latest album is called Reaching Into Infinity and, on this release, bassist Frédéric Leclercq said, “We wanted to deliver nothing but the best…playing fast was something we were good at, so this time I wanted to bring even more diversity in to our music.” The album is to be released this month. Japanese audiences are likely to know of DragonForce because of their collaborations with the Japanese idol metal trio Baby Metal.
