Formed in 2011 to record theme music for the anime television series {Guilty Crown}, the Egoist duo combines songwriter Ryo and vocalist Chelly (and is actually a fictional band from Guilty Crown). The pair continued to produce music for other anime shows (Psycho-Pass and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) and released their debut album {Extra Terrestrial Biological Entities} in September 2012.
Songwriter Ryo is also a founding member of the band Supercell. The duo have only released one full studio album but have put out a number of singles, and last December released a best of album 2011–2017.
In 2016, Egoist were featured in the anime Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress writing the opening theme Koutetsujou no Kabaneri and the ending theme Ninelie. Their latest single was featured as the first opening theme for the anime {Fate/Apocrypha} and was released in 2017 titled Eiyuu Unmei no Uta.
