Foals are a pop-rock-dance-indie four-piece band formed in Oxford, England in 2005. The bands debut studio release was the 2008 album Antidotes, this was an album that reached Gold status in the UK but also performed very well in Japan with the Japanese version featuring bonus tracks. Jump to last year for their latest releases and the band put out two long plays in 2019 as part of one whole project. Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part I (released in March 2019) and Part II (release October 2019). Part II was Fouls first album to reach the No. 1 on the UK album charts. Frontman Philippakis explained the differences between the musical styles of the two albums to UK music magazine NME “There’s a 10-minute awesome space jam – like a Stanley Kubrick prog epic – and then there’s just some big riffs all over the record. It’s (Part 2) quite different from the first part, which we felt was more dance-y and more new wave.It’s more of a rock record.”
