Featuring the ancient horse-racing ceremony known as ashifusesome, both the rider and horse are fully decked out in the colorful traditional garb of the Heian period as they dash through the 400m straight courses in the grove of the shrine. The shrine also provides a hands-on experience of riding on horseback during the event.
