[:en]NOON + CAFE[:]
In his teens, Nakamura Tatsuya played drums for some of Japan’s most legendary punk bands: The Stalin, Genbaku Onanies, and The Star Club, just to name a few. In 1990 he formed the rock trio Blankey Jet City with fellow artists Kenichi Asai and Toshiyuki Terui, and later, Losalios with members of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. Further collaborations with famous act like Puffy, Superfly, and Glay have all gone to establish Nakamura as one of the most important percussionists in Japan. This three-day event, hosted by Osaka’s noon+café, has the impressive title of “Zowazowajinjindokindokin Drummer” – meaning “intense, throbbing, awesome drummer,” which is a pretty accurate way to Nakamura’s cacophonous and unorthodox performances. Fans of punk and hard Japanese rock should definitely catch Nakamura on one (or all) of these nights. One, two, and three-day tickets are available. Only 40 seats available each night. Advance purchase is required.
