Originally from Wisconsin, three-piece band Rainer Maria disbanded at the end of 2006 with a final show on December 17th of that year. Such was the enthusiasm from the audience that night that guitarist Kaia Fischer remarked on stage that “we should break up every night.” After an eight-year break, Rainer Maria got back together for a show on New Year’s Eve 2014. Further shows were added in 2015, and last year they released the new album S/T. It was described by online music magazine Pitchfork as “slower, heavier, and more methodical versions of the group.” On the reunion, Fischer said, “It was amazing to come back together and see how all three of us had grown personally and musically.”
