This festival at Kiyomizu-dera features a colorful dance and procession through the neighborhood of the “Blue Dragon.” The dragon is said to have flown into this temple to drink the water from the Otowa waterfall, which is beneath the main hall. An 18-meter dragon will head the procession with performers clothed in traditional costumes from the temple and the surrounding areas.
