Abeno Harukas Art Museum
Studio Ghibli has released a number of world-renowned films since its establishment in 1985, including Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. This exhibition presents production materials, such as scene paintings, artboards, and background art of the buildings that appear in those films. Additionally, three-dimensional models of certain representative works will be on display. These structures were each designed by animators with consideration to the lives of the films’ characters and the fantastical worlds they inhabit. Guests are invited to reflect upon how the architecture of buildings, both fictional and real, express aspects of the cultures and environments of the people who inhabit them.
