Underworld – the British electronic duo of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith – will play September 18th at the Ultra Japan festival, one of the biggest dance music festivals in Tokyo. But for Kansai electronic music lovers, they are playing a special show in Osaka before Ultra Japan. Underworld is one of the world’s most influential electronic outfits. Born Slippy, their 1995 single, was used on the soundtrack of Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting (1996), which propelled them to the world stage. Over their 20-year career, their music has transcended the dance floor and been featured in films and other projects. In 2012, Rick became the music director of the opening ceremony of the London Olympics. They released their seventh album Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future. – their first in six years – in March 2016. It was nominated for a Grammy and they went on to play at Glastonbury and Coachella festivals. It will be an amazing night at Zepp Namba!
