Umeda Chayamachi Area, Osaka

Turn off the lights, ignite your candles, and watch as thousands of flickering flames burn to life in the busy commercial district of Umeda. The two-hour lights-out period (8pm–10pm) in and around Umeda will be an excellent opportunity to see a very different view of the city. Candle installations by artists of various disciplines will occupy the Umeda Loft and the Chayamachi area. This event encourages the general public to perform their own Candle Night by turning off the lights in their homes for two hours to save power and appreciate a summer evening with the candlelight.
