Hikarisanbo Kojin Shrine

In Kansai, there are few shrines that worship Kojin, the god of fire, but one of them is Hikarisanbo Kojin Shrine nestled at the base of Mt. Koya. After a ceremony conducted by priests, visitors make a candlelight offering to pray for good health and fortune. Organizers ask attendees wear masks. No food will be served during this year’s event.
