Jonangu shrine
In the summer, countless shrines around Japan host purification ceremonies featuring a large ring made of dried grass for people to walk through to cleanse their bodies from evil deeds. Jonangu Shrine’s ceremony adds a unique twist as a five-meter grass arch appears in their parking lot, allowing automobiles to be purified by passing through and receiving a purification ritual from a priest.
