Danh Vo is a conceptual installation artist who works most with photography, paper media as well as the works of other artists. His work explores historical, cultural and political motifs through a personal lens. Much of his art deals with themes of identity and belonging, inspired by his immigration to Denmark from Vietnam at age four. Vo is known for such work as We the People, whereby he divided a copper-cast replica of The Statue of Liberty into 300 parts which he displayed at 15 sites around the world. New York’s Guggenheim Museum hosted his solo exhibition, Take My Breath Away in 2018. This marks Vo’s first large-scale solo exhibition in a Japanese art museum.
