Sugawara Shrine

This is an extreme ritual to purify oneself by walking on burning coals. The coals are spread out into a three-by-three-meter square, requiring about five steps for a person to walk across. For the truly courageous, be one of the 130 participants that experience the firewalking for ¥1,500. Registration is available at the venue on a first-come-first-served basis.
