Known for his work with the bands The Aristocrats (alongside Marco Minnemann and Bryan Beller forming a musicians super-group) and Asia, as well as his solo projects, Guthrie Govan is a British virtuoso guitarist. Also working with the UK magazine Guitar Techniques, Govan is a past winner of Guitarist magazine’s “Guitarist of the Year” award.
The Aristocrats took a break for just over a year to concentrate on each member’s solo ideas and directions during 2017 and 2018, and although Guthrie Govan didn’t put out a new solo album, he has worked on several collaborations, most notably with the movie composer Hans Zimmer.
Govan will be appearing backed by young Indian bassist Mohini Dey, Japanese drumming sensation Senri Kawaguchi, and Hammond/pianist Akira Ishiguro.
