Releasing his debut single Sign of the Times (a number-one hit in the UK) last year, One Direction’s Harry Styles is now a solo artist. The singer, songwriter, and actor got his breakthrough after entering a UK television talent show (The X Factor). From there, the boy vocal group One Direction was born. After going on a hiatus, which looks to be possibly permanent, all the members have released solo material.
Styles’ material seems to be drifting away from One Direction’s commercial pop tracks and seems to be more adult themed. When questioned on the subject of pop stars taking the rock route in an interview last year, Styles said, “I really wanted to make an album that I wanted to listen to.”
