Saga & Arashiyama

Stroll the dimly lit paths of the historical neighborhoods of Saga and Arashiyama. The landmark Togetsukyo Bridge and the crimson-flecked mountainside behind is illuminated, and the main streets lined with elaborate ikebana arrangements. Tenryuji, Hogon-in, Horinji and Jojakkoji temples, as well Nonomiya Shrine and Rakushisha, Basho’s hermitage, have extended viewing hours during this period. Please note that this year the Bamboo Forest illumination is canceled to avoid crowding.
