Mister Kelly's

Jazz

There are many great musicians, many great multi-instrumentalist, the late Dick Heckstall-Smith even used to be accomplished at playing two saxophones at the same time, but New York based Japanese musician Mao Sone goes one step further and plays two different instruments, both the piano and the trumpet at the same time. Born in Tokyo, Sone studied at the famous Berklee College of Music in America and has since performed at the Newport, Monterey, and Toronto Jazz festivals. During February the Mao Sone Jazz Trio will be playing at five different venues in Japan. Having played on a number of recordings for other musicians Mao Sone released his own cd in 2018 on which he played trumpet, piano, percussion, and flugelhorn.
