Japanese Art Society of America (USA) Nov 19, 5pm (Pacific Time) (Japan time: Nov 20, 10am) The Joryu Hanga Kyokai or the Women’s Print Association, was a collective of Japan women printmakers that were active in the mid 20th century. At a time when most of the recognized printmakers of Japan were men, the women persistently showcased their work and successfully exhibited their work in New York. After their ten-year career as a group, the artists continued to establish their individual careers. The webinar focuses on the artists’ works as well as their contribution to the printmaking history.
