Heijokyo Palace Site

Four gigantic colorful floats of Buddhist gods will appear at the palace site. These floats are referred to as large-scale Tateyama, human-shaped floats that are decorated to ward off evil spirits. Localized versions of these floats can be found in the smaller neighborhoods of Nara. At night, the floats will be illuminated and will parade around the site.
