Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1996 from the Swedish death-metal scene, The Haunted’s debut album was the self-titled 1998 release, which led to them being named Newcomer of The Year by a number of rock and metal magazines. 2017 saw the release of the band’s ninth studio album, Strength In Numbers, through Century Media Records and the current line-up of the band includes original members Patrik Jensen (guitar), Jonas Björler (bass), and Adrian Erlandsson (drums), alongside vocalist Marco Aro and lead guitarist Ola Englund. Talking about the latest album, the band says the new material “sounds really heavy and thrashing,” and anyone taking a listen to the track Brute Force from the album would not disagree with that description.
