Sanjusangendo Temple

In this national Japanese archery competition, 2,000 archers in traditional costumes shoot arrows over a distance of 60 meters into targets approximately 50–100 centimeters in diameter. The contest is famous for having women archers who are coming-of-age (turning 20 during the year) wear colorful kimono participate in the tournament.
