One of Kansai’s very own, the six-piece rock band UVERworld will play Osaka Jo Hall this November. Originally from Kusatsu, Shiga, the band havs released nine albums and 20 singles selling over three million records worldwide. The band cites a lot of their influences as being from the UK 60’s rock genre that would in turn start the Japanese group-sounds genre (The Beatles, The Zombies, The Kinks), though this isn’t clearly heard in their music and it is difficult to categorize the band’s music.
Last year saw UVERworld release their 9th album, Tycoon, which consists of 18 tracks running almost 80 minutes and hit the top spot on the Oricon rankings within two days of its release. There is also a limited-edition version with live performances.
