Yoshida Shrine

One of the biggest celebrations for {Setsubun} or the day before spring will take place at Kyoto’s Yoshida Shrine. On both days, the path leading to the shrine has a line up of 800 vendors and special goodies such as good luck beans can be purchased. At 6pm on Feb 2, a dramatic demon-chasing act takes place as three “bad” demons are chased away by one “good” demon, symbolizing the removal of any bad deeds before the new season.
