One of the best pyrotechnics shows in Japan, the Lake Biwa Great Fireworks Display is expected to attract 350,000 spectators. 10,000 spectacular light flowers bloom in the night sky, reflecting on the glassy surface of the lake. Join the hoards of onlookers as fireworks fly in arcs across the sky, while others fan out on the water’s surface! Arriving early is recommended to secure the best viewing spots a few hours early. Ojiyama Sports Park, which is five minutes’ walk from Hamaotsu Station, is a good spot to go to. Nagisa Park and the lakefront, 15 minutes’ walk from Otsu Station, are some other highly recommended viewpoints.
