Currently based in Japan, Ami Nakazono also spent some time living in the US studying music at the famous Berklee College of Music, specializing saxophone and flute. At the same time, around 2008, she was also playing with the French jazz singer Violette De Bartillat.
2016 saw the release of her debut solo album, Make It Happy, described as a mix of smooth jazz, groove, lounge style, and funk-rock rhythms. Nakazono’s live band for the Osaka gig consists of Jun Abe (piano and keyboards), Sota Morimitsu (bass), and Fumihiro Ibuki (drums).
Already building a reputation both in Japan and abroad, Nakazono played the Hua Hin International Jazz festival in June and has growing support everywhere she goes.
