Learn the fundamentals of powerful visual storytelling from photojournalist and documentary photographer Frédéric Mery. While his portfolio of work spans the globe, he has found that the best stories often await just around the corner from home.

The workshop will begin with a walkthrough of a selection of Frédéric’s projects, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the technical aspects, funding, decision-making, editorial process, and marketing considerations involved. Frédéric’s presentation will be followed by time for exchange and a briefing on the day’s agenda. Next, head out into the field to sharpen your skills with a guided photo shoot.

The final day of the workshop will consist of a review and feedback session, where participants will have a chance to present their photographs and discover ways in which they might take their work to the next level.
