Last year, Kyoto band Homecomings released the CD SYMPHONY. The indie-rock four-piece takes influence from U.S. indie rock – Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Elliot Smith – and the sound of the UK scene in the 80s. They are also heavily influenced by American film and literature saying, “Possibly the word ‘admiration’ is closer to how we feel, rather than to say ‘influenced by.’ We continue to take musical inspiration from literature that we read in Japan, including Stuart Dybek’s two works The Coast of Chicago and I Sailed With Magellan, and Adrian Tomine.

”This year, the band started a music and film event at a local cinema in Kyoto called “New Neighbors.” About the event, they said, “Friends and fans from our hometown have always warmly supported us, but after starting this event, we feel ever more connected to the place itself – the feeling that it’s really our “home town” has become stronger.”
