Last year saw the release of Jakob Bro’s 13th album Streams, and over the past 13 years, he’s picked up as many awards and recognitions to match (including Danish Jazz Album of the Year five times!).
The Danish jazz guitarist and composer currently leads his trio which includes Joey Baron (drums) and Thomas Morgan (bass). Online jazz music news outlet Jazz Trail says of Bro that he is a guitarist with a “highly identifiable sound and deep intimacy inherent to his poetic approach and pallid textures.”
The gig is billed as a Streams release concert so the trio will no doubt be showcasing compositions from the new album. “The music wants to go in its own direction, it’s our job to follow it,” Bro said.
