Kamo Shrine, Shiga

Featuring the ancient horse-racing ceremony known as ashifusesome, both rider and horse are fully decked out in the colorful traditional garb of the Heian period as they dash through the 400m straight courses in the grove of the shrine. The shrine also provides a horseback experience during the event.
