This exhibition marks 1300 years since the establishment of Saikoku Sanjusansho, or the 33 Pilgrimage Sites of Western Japan, a pilgrimage throughout Kansai of thirty-three Buddhist temples. Each temple features an image of Kannon, otherwise known as the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
