Kita Mido Temple

Within walking distance from Osaka’s Shinsaibashi shopping district, this annual summer event has something for everyone. In the middle of Kita Mido Temple, a scaffold for the performers is set up as dancers form a circle and dance to nostalgic songs of Kawachi Ondo (a folk song genre that originated in Osaka). Everyone is encouraged to participate in this Bon dance to celebrate the heated summer evening.
