Scottish singer-songwriter, Kate Victoria Tunstall, was born in June 1975 in Edinburgh. Her commercial breakthrough came in 2004 when appearing on the British music television show Jools Holland. The album Eye To The Telescope was then released and charted at number three in the UK album charts, and went on to sell over 4.5 million copies worldwide. As well as being a vocalist and songwriter Tunstall also plays guitar, piano, drums, and flute. Her latest album, KIN, is her fifth from the studio and was released last year. On the album she says, “The truth is, I’ve finally made peace with being a pop songwriter. This record was very much embracing my dharma as an artist which is to write positive songs that have muscle, but also show their vulnerability.” Rolling Stone magazine call the album “a power-pop gem.” The album peaked at number seven on the UK album charts and also features a duet with British singer-songwriter James Bray.
