Often described as indie and occasionally progressive rock, Danish alternative rock band Mew is comprised of vocalist Jonas Bierre, bassist Johan Wohlert, and drummer Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen. Founding member Bo Madsen, who left the band in 2015, had previously said on the band’s sound, “I usually say we are ‘indie stadium.’ A mix between ‘feelings’ and ‘thinking’ is usually good.”
Mew’s latest album Visuals (released in 2017) is their first without original guitarist Bo Madsen who had been in the band for 20 years, and vocalist Bierre says, “Each album is like a collection of thoughts and ideas that fit the time we’re in. They’re like little diary entries, except they’re a little bit more veiled perhaps. To me, albums are memories of times in my life.”
