Miwasaki Hachiman Shrine

The annual festival held by Miwasaki Hachiman Jingu features a whale dance performance, which originated approximately 330 years ago, and involves imitating the action of catching a whale. After a succession of traditional ceremonies starting at 10am, the dance performances take place in the afternoon.
