Mount Eerie is the name used by US songwriter, musician, and producer Phil Elverum. Originally a member of the band The Microphones, Elverum began his current project 15 years ago in 2003. Described as a mix of ambient, experimental, indie-folk rock, he has just released his ninth studio album titled Now Only. The six-track album includes an 11-minute composition called Distortion, which begins basically with that before the lyrics and acoustic guitar sets the tone for a very open, personal, and tragic piece of music. Elverum is a prolific producer of music and every release has received considerable critical acclaim. Mount Eerie performs five shows in Japan on the back of sold-out performances in the US.
