Yodo Riverbed between Shin Yodogawa Bridge and National Route 2, Osaka

Thousands come to the Yodo River to watch the colorful fireworks light up the night sky. Since the first festival in 1989, this annual event has been planned and managed by a local group of volunteers. The fireworks are launched into the air in sync with the music that includes pop songs to classical music. The highlight of the evening is when fireworks are launched quickly one after the other above the water as the final large-scale firework shoots into the air. To watch the fireworks, find a place near the Yodo River on the northern (Juso area) and southern (Umeda area) shores. As this event draws many crowds (like many other fireworks festivals), make sure to come early to reserve an area and get comfortable!
