Various Parts of Kyoto

Giant bonfires burn on the five mountains surrounding Kyoto City. These five bonfires (three in the shape of Japanese kanji characters, one in the form of a ship, and the other in the outline of a torii gate) can be seen from many places in the heart of the city.
