Kasuga Shrine, Nara

The On-Matsuri is a festival held at Wakamiya Shrine which stands in the precincts of the Kasuga Taisha, one of the oldest shrines in Japan. Historic pageantry lasts for four days to celebrate the deity of Kasuga-taisha. On the 17th, the grand parade starts at noon and classical performing arts can be seen one after another until late at night. After the parade, various performances will be staged at the Nara National Museum.
