The Yonkoma manga is a simple storytelling format where only four frames are used to communicate a narrative. In the world of manga, Yonkoma is a genre of its own, often appearing in newspapers and providing social commentary. In this session, Tadahiro Saika, a research fellow at the International Manga Research Center of Kyoto Seika University, explores the history of how the Yonkoma format came about and how it has changed and developed over the years. The session will take place using Zoom and reservations are necessary. https://www.jpf.org.uk/whatson.php#1159 https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-story-in-four-frames-japanese-yonkoma-manga-tickets-127197867245
