Hine Jinja Shrine

Established 1300 years ago, Hine Shrine is unique shrine known for pillows. In the past, pillows were often offered to the shrine to pray for childbirth. However, throughout time, people equated pillows as a symbol for sleep and recently many visit hoping to improve their quality of sleep. In this festival, 25 colorfully decorated pillows are put on 5-meter bamboo poles and are carried throughout the neighborhood accompanied by chanting.
