Senbon Shakado

Daikondaki is an event that occurs every winter where temples distribute cooked Japanese radish or daikon to the visitors. Before cooking, a Sanskrit character is written on the radish and offered to the gods. After this ceremony, it is chopped, cooked with fried tofu, and distributed to pray for good health.
