Kiyomizu Temple

This festival at Kiyomizu-dera features a colorful dance and procession through the neighborhood of the “Blue Dragon” (it’s a green dragon, but green is often called blue in Japanese). The dragon is said to have flown into this temple to drink the water from the Otowa waterfall, which is beneath the main hall.
