Tobihino in Nara Park, Nara

For some wild entertainment, check out shikayose – an event where hundreds of wild deer rush out to be fed acorns. On crisp, cold mornings in Nara Park, a French hornist will play a verse of Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony to call the town’s population of deer. See how tame and gentle these animals can be as they form a line to march to the horn player. This is such an enjoyable attraction that members of the Japanese royal family have attended in past years. Make sure you don’t miss out on seeing it for yourself.
