Hokyoji Imperial Convent
Beautiful antique dolls that successive emperors sent their daughters in the samurai period will be on display. Hokyoji, also known as the temple of dolls, is an imperial convent where many imperial princesses served as an abbess, the leader of a group of nuns. On March 1st, an opening performance featuring a kimono-clad Tayu (courtesan) with traditional musical instruments will take place from 11am.
